Join auster*events and American Heart Association (AHA) in honoring February as American Heart Month by observing Friday February 6th as National Wear Red Day.
Cardiovascular disease is our nation's No. 1 killer. Many people may be surprised to learn that heart disease is the most common cause of death for American women as well as men.
To raise awareness about what a big threat heart disease poses for women, Friday, February 6, 2009 is designated as National Wear Red Day. Wear something red on this day to show that you care about your heart health and support the research and programs that help combat heart disease.
For more information about risk factors and good habits for a healthy heart, as well as ways you can help raise awareness of this major health concern, visit The AHA's Web site www.GoRedForWomen.org or the National Heart Lung and Blood Institute's Web site for their The Heart Truth campaign.
